Services

These are generally held on alternate weeks at Fewston and Blubberhouses. They last for about 1 hour, less for a family service.

At Blubberhouses, except for Family Services, the service is generally in the evening at 7pm. The Traditional Book of Common Prayer (BCP) is used for both Holy Communion and Evening Prayer and there is a sermon and hymns with organ accompaniment.

At Fewston services are generally at 11am and are either Morning Prayer or Holy Communion. The more modern Common Worship book is used and there is also a sermon and hymns accompanied by the organ.

Family Services are held at one of the valley churches almost every week. These are aimed at families with children under 10s but all age groups attend. See Services this Month. Workshops for primary school age children are held regularly each school holiday. See Calendar.

On the 5th Sunday of the month all 6 Anglican and 2 Methodist congregations join together for one service which rotates round the churches.

More details of this month's services are found on the Services this Month page.

Can I take Holy Communion?
You are welcome to take Holy Communion in our churches if you have been confirmed in the Church of England or usually take communion in your own church. Communion is served at the communion rail. You are welcome to come to the rail even if you don't take communion, and to bring children to the rail, for a blessing.
If you would like information about confirmation classes please contact the clergy.
