The Church in Local Schools
There are 2 primary schools within the Washburn and Mid-Wharfe parishes:

Top of Farnley School's aims is: To provide a caring, Christian Community, which celebrates the individual. Our clergy regularly lead worship and give support to the staff in achieving the School's aims.
Open the Book - Every fortnight a group goes into each school to present a bible story:

A series of Bible stories, each lasting about ten minutes presented fortnightly in assembly. |

The stories are presented using a variety of storytelling methods including beautiful props made by a team at Otley Deanery, and simple drama. The stories tell the ‘Big Picture’ through snapshots of the whole Bible from Genesis to Acts. |

The stories are taken mainly from the Lion Storyteller Bible by Bob Hartman. The story telling team comes from different churches in the district and includes clergy and Farnley School parents. Children often take part too. | |
